This picture I posted a few days ago... which represents our immediate front yard as of 4 days ago.
The snow is melting wicked fast. Every morning, I can see that bit of snow up there by the dead truck recede.
It's like one of those puzzles where you have to spot the minor differences between 2 almost identical images. HA HA
Even though the weather forecast had been calling for chances to rain still, it has been gorgeous out here. The amount of melting that happened last week was incredible!

It's been sunny most days and averaging around 9 or 10 degrees. This coming week is suppose to have 11 degree days! Woooooooo
At the end of the week, the majority of the snow, except the pockets that are stuck in perpetual shady areas, will be gone. And I can walk the kids to school every day now. Might be time for that wagon.
They were helping our neighbor/landlady to clean up some of her tree debris in her yard. And Loving It!
That was saturday. Yesterday they were both outside again. My oldest was out for about 4 hours, then promptly passed out on the couch when she got in. :)
I think this finally means the end of winter!!!

Sure we still have lots of snow that needs melting. There are piles of snow around here larger than people and some Winnebagos!
But no more is going to fall! And it's not going to be ass numbing cold anymore!!!!

Well, it was warm for half last week.
Then it snowed a little over the weekend.
Today it is -15 degrees celcius!!!
Holy crap!
But the forecast shows it getting progressively warmer day after day until its back up to 8 or 9 degrees above.
Of course then the forecast is rain.
But I will take anything that will get rid of the snow!!!
I'm freezing my arse off here.
It's finally melting. It was up to at least 6 degrees above zero yesterday and it was melting real fast. There are rivers running down every road, and by late afternoon the dirt of our driveway was finally showing through!!!
8 Degrees is a big deal. I might even break out the shorts! lol
Also, I mentioned trying out MJs diet... and I dont know if Im bloated or it's that time of the month, or the dinner I had on the weekend, but I'm up a few pounds...
I can continue to bitch about the office that I still work for (That I quit, but got sucked back in) but... I'm just not in the mood at the moment.

So, since I really don't have anything to lose, I am trying MJ's diet at the moment. Which includes high protein snacks (like fishy products) during the day, and apples. Why not? I doubt I'd gain weight on it. Although, it does make for kinda bad breath. I better go get some gum later.
My big weakness is carbs, and starch. So I'm really trying to avoid those if all possible during the day.
We're almost into march, so the weather better smarten up, so I can get out more often and walk without freezing my tush off, or risking my life on the driveway.
I found this neat little wagon that I think I will buy when the weather does actually turn nicer because my youngest doesn't always want to walk the whole way. I guess it's tiring for someone with really short legs. And the days I did take the sled she couldn't wait to hop in.
My oldest is getting a little big for it, but I could at least drag her backpack with me... I am still looking at other models to see if there is anything else that will work better.
There is always the traditional wagon style. As long as it's sturdy to go over some dirt driveways and sections of the school grounds. I might have to go look at the 2nd wagon pictured here, to see how sturdy it really is.
If we do move this year, then maybe I can take this wagon with me and run errands if we live closer to some amenities. I can drag the younger child, and then 1 or 2 bags home.
I dont plan to stop dieting after my friend's wedding. I want to be able to lose 20lbs if at all possible before then. 10 or 15 might be a better goal. But there are still more to lose after that.
My sedintary career does not help at all. Pleh.

So I am trying to get some work in today and avoid the kitchen, because I have an urge to bake... bread or something. Which is my downfall. Pleh. We are having wraps for dinner. It's something we do quite often, and the types we make vary greatly. We've done meatless ones with cans of black beans... and once we tried a chicken/mashpotato/stuffing one.. it was different. I prefer just cooking up some meat, a little rice, and having a plate of raw chopped veggies on the side to toss in. We have several sauces in the fridge, including a low fat sechwan... nom nom nom.

Last night we watched Punisher: War Zone. I heard it wasn't all that great, but I wanted to watch it because Ray Stevenson is the new punisher. He starred in that TV Series 'Rome' that I mentioned, many blogs ago, as Titus Pullo. I still highly recommend that series to anyone. But the movie was cheese, wrapped in a cliche. The mafia bad guys were trying too hard to be really italian mafioso... that it was just over the top and made me want to puke. Oh and whoever made the movie, wasn't the same guy who did the first one, because they changed the backstory... and there was NO continuity from the first. His family died in a different place, and the number of children he had changed... I really hate it when they do that.
Ray joins a list of actors that I keep filed away mentally, who I will watch in any movie they do, simply because I found they did an incredible job in at least one movie, or tv show. Some of the actors he join include: Clive Owen, Jason Statham, Liam Neeson, Micheal C Hall. And... I can't think of the rest now... my brain is on vacation today.

So I woke up this morning to the weather feed on my FireFox saying it was -20 degrees celcius. As I was drinking my coffee, it went down to -21 degrees.
WTF is going on here. Srsly. We had one wonderful warm day where everything melted tons. Then a cold snap... a big dump of snow... and another cold snap.
It is also perfectly clear out there. It was so cold that as I stood at my daughters school, waiting for the bell, you could see thousands and thousands of minuscule ice crystals floating in the air. As if the air itself was freezing. It was very pretty in the sun shine however.
Every single leafless tree I saw on the way down to the grocery store afterward looked as though it was frosted completely from head to toe... if trees had toes. Like it was blasted with a can of whip cream.... or that fake snow you spray on fake christmas trees.
Now for some cats to attemp to brighten my day.
