Thank Horus the weekend is over
I'll have to explain the title another day. It's an inside joke with me and Lee.
Whew. The weekend is over, the wedding is over. In a way its a shame. It turned out great. The weather cooperated for pictures. Her dress was gorgeous!!! But I am so glad its all over.
I might have mentioned some of the things we had to do this weekend. Well. I did get the manicure and pedicure after all. And it felt weird to have someone inches from my foot, cleaning and scrubbing away the dead skin. But it also felt good to have them soak and my feet massaged. Same with my hands. The color I picked is a color that complimented the dress, and would be a color I would normally wear. If I did wear it. My toes match my fingers too! hehehe. Although, all weekend I could feel the polish on my fingernails. Even now they feel... thicker... and heavier. I guess it's because I don't wear polish... at all.
Sunday morning was hair. And I had my hair all done up before at least twice, so it wasn't a big deal. My oldest did well over the course of the day. She got bored, but was looking forward to wearing her 'princess' dress and going to the 'party'. After hair was makeup... and I swear they've invented more products in the years since I even bothered with it.
- I washed my face with one product, then applied 2 different ones for sun block and some sort of moisterizer / primer.
- I swear she put on 6 different items and colors on my eyes, not including mascara... it started to hurt after a while.
- Then there were 4 products for foundation: a primer, the color, and a bronzer around the edges to make my face more oval, and a lightener on the sides of my nose and under my eyes
- Then I think 3 on my lips, including another primer, and a very goopy lip gloss something or other that my hair kept sticking to
That was more makeup in one day than I wear in a year total!!!
The Mary Kay lady was asking me what my routine was, and what I wear and how often. I said "well, whenever we get a babysitter, so 3 times a year maybe"
It felt so good to scrub it all of. I could feel all that foundation.
I may not have enjoyed all those things that are customary with weddings, but for my friend who I have known since Grade 2 and we've been best friends forever... I would never have refused any of it.
